Berta Caceres, Leader for Indigenous Rights in Honduras, Murdered March 3, 2016

On March 3, 2016 in Honduras, leader Berta Caceres was murdered in her home. She was an activist for indigenous rights and was mobilizing against the construction of the Agua Zarca Hydroelectric Project, which would negatively impact peoples and animals--and is being built by Chinese state run enterprise SINOHYDRO.
